We at Mulhurst are always interested in growing the relationship between the camp, our member churches and the community at large. To help deepen this relationship we have launched a promotional tour. If you would like to have a presentation about the camp at your church or community event please contact Darlene Schindel by calling 780 940-1496 or email darlene.schindel@gmail.com.

We are hoping to visit our member churches in a face-to-face way in order to promote the camp as a resource to congregations as well as a ministry to individual families and children.

Marg Daly joins the Mulhurst team as program director for summer 2012.  She holds two Masters Degrees: A Master of Arts in Musicology with Performance from the University of Victoria and a Master of Divinity Degree from what is now Taylor Seminary.  Her music performance centers in flute and piano, with her masters in academic study of history and harmony.  Her Master of Divinity degree was the standard degree, but her options were filled with counseling emphasis.

Her life thus far has indeed been centered in music and ministry, with significant leadership, administrative and mentoring skills.  She currently works as Parish Assistant at Ascension Lutheran Church in Edmonton where during the 2011-2012 year her duties have included directing the choir, organizing the musicians, planning worship and chairing the committee, as well as teaching confirmation class, pulpit supply, administrative support and college and careers among other things.  She has spent many years teaching in both sacred and secular institutions, and has taught primarily music, but also assisted with drama production.

In addition to her current work at Ascension Lutheran, Marg teaches music privately, does book keeping and performs regularly.  She serves on the Edmonton Branch of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers Association as concerto convener.  She owns two registered bichon frise who have been proud parents, loves drinking coffee, has been seen clowning around the Edmonton area, loves cycling, and attends Edmonton Eskimo games as a season ticket holder.

She is excited to work at Mulhurst this year as she has a passion for youth and young adults; “They are the future of our church and society and are valuable to God’s current and future work.”  This job will combine her passion for ministry, her love of people and her servant leadership style.

Mulhurst has an opening for a head cook for the summer camp program, beginning in June 2012.

Head Cook: Mature, experienced individual; familiar with cooking in a large group setting, menu preparation, food purchasing, handling, preparing and storage.  Kitchen safety standards knowledge required.  Salary is $600/wk.

Mulhurst is currently seeking applications for anyone interested in the position of camp cook, either in a full capacity for the entire summer program or anyone interested in part time employment only.  Please send a cover letter stating why you would like to work in this capacity in outdoor ministry along with a current resume including names of two references to director@mulhurstcamp.ca.  Please indicate the amount of time from mid-June to August 25 that you are interested in working.

Mulhurst is a place where children can be creative through crafts and music and enjoy activities such as swimming, archery, campfires, canoeing etc. Through Bible study and worship the children learn bout the love of Jesus and what it means to be a child of God – all this in a beautiful setting on Pigeon Lake.

The cost for one week is $290. You select the amount of your gift certificate. A voucher will be mailed to you for the child to register at a Summer Camp of their choosing by calling 780-389-4355 or office@mulhurstlutherancamp.ca.

We are very excited about the new functionality this new design brings. It will be much easier for us to keep you up to date on your Mulhurst news and upcoming events. You may notice at the bottom of this post there is a “share on Facebook” button. If you have Facebook this will help share Mulhurst with your friends. Also, we now have a Facebook group join the hundreds of campers, staff, and alumni that are currently members and keep in touch with old friends.
